Presence

These PRESENCE drawings are the result of my winter studies in the woodland where I live. Throughout the cold months, when the trees stood bare, I walked daily—watching, sketching, and allowing the quiet rhythm of the season to guide my attention.

In these moments of stillness and repetition, I began to sense what I can only describe as another Presence—unseen, yet perceptibly near. It is not unsettling, but companionable: a gentle reminder of the life that surrounds us even when all seems dormant.

My drawings are both documentation and meditation. They record the slow visual unfolding of the landscape and my own process of procuring the tree formations and the imaginary ‘presence’. I am interested in revealing the subtle dialogues that exist between the visible and the invisible, between self and place.
