I identify with land artists and propose that my work strikes a chord with an audience familiar with rural surroundings. I respond to my sense of place and represent my subjects through drawing. The elusive nature of my subject is transformed by memory, materials and scrutinising the sensations experienced whilst walking and re-encountering my moments of subliminal thoughts. I use an instinctive, empirical process which guides my fingers in a tactile rhythm across the paper. By extending these movements and memories into a visual format I am able to revisit and conceptualise these experiences and share them with my audience. Graphite + pencil on paper A1
